Terre d'Hermes

What does everything think of this beautiful scent? It's earthy and yet in the sky at the same time. One of my (and my girlfriend's) favorite scents on me.

It's sort of like a more Fresh/Springy/Rainy day YSL M7. It's not quite as foreign and deep as M7.

And I don't smell it very often, which gives it exclusivity.

I didn't care for it when I tried it on in the Mexican Duty Free Shop at the Cancun Airport. Of course, the alcohol seeping out of my pores may have altered the scent!

I think it's excellent and (at least to me) fairly unique. I'm surprised it doesn't get a little more attention here.

PS: I'm looking to buy about 1 oz (I've got too much other stuff to want a whole bottle).

I love Terre d'Hermes and wear it in rotation with a number of other colognes. The striking note in this scent IMO is black pepper. Different and very nice.

This is my go-to scent and the only bottle I own in my so-far-brief career as a scent-o-phile.

I love the spicy/flint-y top notes and the classic, light and not-overpowering woody base. Somewhere in the middle there is a nice citrus note. It reminds me of red-rock desert (iron sandstone), crisp dry desert heat, cactus flowers and twisted ancient wood barely hanging onto life. Awesome!

I am also struck by how wearable it is without having too much sillage and/or projection. It is one of the few scents so far I feel comfortable wearing in just about any situation.

I have a split of the TdH parfum and really like it. It is extremely potent and long-lasting, so demands restraint in application.

Yeah, it does remind me a little of M7 but Terre D'Hermes is much, MUCH better.

M7 turns a little too sweet on me, but Terre D'Hermes is one of my top 5 scents. Love it!

By miles this is my favourite scent since the day I first smelt it at Heathrow in August 2006, just two months after it came out.

My girl goes crazy for this and she even steals mine sometimes!!

I agree it's a summer scent, but she also thinks it's quite good in the cold winter months.

Out of curiosity, what do people think of the Parfum version of this scent? Any thoughts on the after shave balm (although probably the wrong the thread for that).

It's the only scent my boss wears, so I avoid it. But it's a first rate scent and is highly regarded at Basenotes too.

I really like this (SWMBO as well) and it really works on My skin. Good open with the citrus, but it really shines on the dry down to the muttled orange/earthy notes that is so nice. I'm almost done with My tester and now have to decide between the edt and edp.

The ladies rate this different. Some go gaga for it and others - nothing. I'm not too fond of orange scents - just my personal preference. The price is right and worth trying.
