Synthetic Brush for my wife to abuse?

I'm thinking of trying to half convert the wife over to a brush & soap. She's used my brushes before, and enjoyed them...but then she'll leave my brush soaped up in a mug. I'm thinking/wondering if a synthetic brush would be a good idea for her. That way if she ends up leaving it soaped up in the mug, at least I know it shouldn't cause any issues....right?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

SThis made me chuckle because I did the same with my girlfriend. I gave her my Whipped Dog 22mm synthetic to use. It works well, dries quickly, and I won't be upset if she completely ruins it.
So I think it's a good idea. She still should rinse it out post shave...

It depends. If you want a really nice synthetic, I love my Muhle silvertip fiber - Connaught Shaving and shaving.ie have them for cheaper, even after accounting for shipping from Europe.

If you want a cheap synthetic, you could do that as well.

If it were my wife, I'd go for the Muhle with a non-wooden handle. You could ask her about faux ivory, faux horn, or black.

Hmm...I don't know that I want to ask her, as I was hoping to toss it in her stocking...but we'll see. What are the Muhle like for softness of bristle?

I'll keep the Whipped Dogs in mind as well. Larry is good to deal with.

The body shop synthetic is $12, but it has a wooden handle. Leaving it soaped in a mug might be OK, but I definitely wouldn't keep it wet.

The Muhle feels velvety and incredibly soft with no scratch at all. I've also had (as synthetics) the Omega Lucretia Borgia synthetic badger (not very good, it's now a toy for my daughter to play with), the Body Shoppe synthetic (I really didn't care for it personally), and an Ecotools kabuki makeup brush (not bad for a $5 brush, but not in the same league as a real shaving brush).

If you want to get a synthetic, the 4th Generation fibers are the best to date. Muhle is not the only manufacturer, but they definitely give you 4th Gen fibers and are second to none. Yes, I'm highly biased! There are a few threads discussing synthetic brushes with more detail (I think Frank's Shaving has a 4th Gen brush, and Omega's Hi-Performance might be but that might be 3rd Gen).

I have the 21 mm brush in olivewood. For leg lathering, I'd get at least a 23 mm and possibly a 25 mm (for the size question I'd defer to someone with experience leg lathering).
