Superspeeds

Hey guys--would there be any difference in the shaves from 2 different SS's. Specifically, from a 1955 vs. a 1959?

Thanks.

There should not be much of a difference if it is a Red Tip compared to a Red Tip, Regular Flare Tip to a Flare Tip etc. If you are comparing Red Tip vs Regular Flare Tip than there will be a difference.

Does this come down to the weight of materials used and the blade gap exposure more than anything else? Are there any other variables to look out for between different models of SS's and their respective aggressiveness?

+1 it's about mass and blade gap exposure between those types of super speeds 1955-59.

Although there is great similarity between the '50s and '60s style designs, they are two different razors. While performing roughly "the same," you will most likely experience a difference in feel and may prefer one over the other. Of course, I could be wrong, and YMMV.

I've been using my B-4 SS this week . . . effortless, effective, but not as exciting as some other models . . .

I've found differences in the shave between two flare tip superspeeds from the same year. It just comes down to the way it was treated over the years.
