It's been a while since I've PIF'd anything so I figured it's about time. If I run across good deals at estate sales of razors I already have a model of then I like to try and give a new person a chance of trying out a razor. Sorry for the crappy photo, but it's late, I'm tired, and I'm not gonna set up my lights at this point.
The big disclaimer up front: CONUS only participants. Sorry, but I don't have time to go to the post and mess with international shipping.
The rules: I would like this to go to a new wet shaver who has not tried a a Gillette SS and has at least 50 posts. ON YOUR HONOR! I would request that if it doesn't agree with you that you in turn give it to someone else here on B&B and not sell it to keep with the spirit of this PIF. I would also ask that if later down the road you find a nicer model and don't mind separating yourself from this razor that again, you PIF it to someone here on B&B.
There seems to be a bit of indecision if you qualify or not. So let's set another criteria: the 50 posts by the time I give it away and a new member of B&B within the last 6 months.
Now for the goodies
This is a 1966 1st quarter SS (code L-1). It has a little black mark near the top of the knurling on the handle and a few bits of plating loss and a ding here and there, but all in all a respectable sample and it should polish up quite nicely (and it's way nicer than my first one ). I've not used the razor, but the guards and blade gap look good to me, it mechanically is fine, and I've given it a light preliminary cleaning with scrubbing bubbles. You will need to further sanitize it to your satisfaction.
I will let this PIF run till late Sunday night or Monday morning CST then pick a winner using Random.org.
Good luck to everyone!!!!
