Supermax Blade Differences

Hey guys, I just tried my first Supermax Super Stainless blade today, and I got a great shave from it.

I am considering buying more of these in bulk, but I see that Supermax has several different blades.
Naturally I am wondering what the differences are. Can someone please enlighten me?

I am mainly wondering if one is better than another, which one is the best, and which one is the worst.

So far I have found these variations:

Super Stainless (Blue Pack)
Super Stainless (Green Pack)
Platinum
Super Platinum
Titanium
Blue Diamond

Blue and green are the same blade, packed for different markets (Europe/USA), work fine for me and inexpensive.

Platinum, Super Platinum and Blue Diamond give me more or less the same (good) shave, a bit better than the SS; Titanium is the best for me, also the most expensive, comes at about the same price as Feather... You can find reviews in my thread "Feather, measure of all blades"

Congrats. Always nice to find a blade that works well.

I have also noticed the differences in blade packaging. Mostly similar grinds with different coatings, packaged for different markets.

Super Stainless (Blue Pack)

Blue box, white writing with the holographic dot. These are the 'Vidyut' branded, Indian blades. I actually grabbed a 200-pack from eBay, delivered to me in Australia for AUD$17 total. Just waiting on them to arrive. I'm hoping these are the ones you got a DFS from.

Super Stainless (Green Pack)

From what I can ascertain, these are similar to the above. Might see if I can acquire a very small amount - 5 blades maybe - and try.

Platinum

These are the well known two-tone White/Blue box with the hologram dot. 'Vidyut' branded. Some people like them, although I have an associate who hated them, couldn't believe how they tore him up.

Super Platinum

I have got these, yet to try them. I am actually testing some of the Gillette Platinums at the moment, seeing how many shaves I can get out of one. These are Indian manufacture, distributed by SuperMax London and packaged for the Western market rather than the sub-continent. My source was Razorblades and More in the Vendor section, he has them for USD$12/100.

Titanium

Never seen any vendor selling them, I can find them on eBay, rather expensive though at $14.50/50. Again, would be interested to try.

Blue Diamond

Plastic dispenser, these look to be a different branding of the Super Platinums - more upmarket, possibly for the US market. There is a local Aussie seller of these, If you would like a PIF of them then send me your address in a PM and I will bounce a pack to you in the new year.

I have the Supermax Super Platinum, and they are sharp!
