SuperBowl 44....

....who's going and who's going to win?

Predictions, gents. What say ye?

I'm going with Indy vs. the winner of the Dallas/Minnesota game.

Naturally, I have to pick the Colts to nail down the championship.

All I know is that I've been informed that if the Saints make it to the Super Bowl, my wife, house, kids, and I (presumably) will be fully decked out in Saints regalia. Probably an unusual sight in the NYC suburbs! :biggrin1:

:lol: You know I was one of many who wanted to see a Colts/Saints SB both undefeated going in, but the Saints couldn't do it and the Colts chose not to.

Heck even if the Colts don't make it I'll be decked out in my Colts gear the day of the SB, you gotta support your team through the highs and the lows....

ask a Pats fan.

My prediction is the Chargers and whoever wins the Dallas/Minnesota game goes to the Super Bowl.

Regardless of who goes, AFC wins.

My team's out, but I guess I'm pulling for the Colts now, not because I'm a fan, but because I want to see all this taxpayer money that they've used to put into the team hopefully pay off and since I'm one of those taxpayers I want things to improve for this city.

I think the Cowboys may finally break out this season (after so many years of drama) and win the NFC. Colts will take the AFC. Can't confidently predict the 'Boys can beat the Colts with Peyton at the helm - he's an amazing player and leader and I admire that team a lot. Could be fun!

...if we don't have anymore Ray Finkle issues that is.

If it's the Cowboys and Chargers, I think I'm going to stare at the wall for hours and cry.

I'm hoping it's Indianapolis, but I don't have a lot of faith in them against San Diego, because San Diego routinely beats them up. It would be nice to see New Orleans go, but I don't think they'll do it.

I think my ideal match up would be Colts and Vikings.

I still want to see a Colts/Saints showdown, but they both are going to have some tough obstacles to overcome. I'll never count out Minnesota and Favre or Arizona. And Indy is going to have to deal with San Diego, which looks tough as of late.

My concern about the Cardinals is how many points they coughed up to Green Bay last week. That and they are facing a rested, healthy Saints offense, the most productive offense in NFL right now.

San Diego has a good looking record except that their last real challenge was Dallas back in early December, and their wins against the Redskins and Bengals were each by only 3 points. I like Rivers, and I think they'll be able to get past the Jets, but I don't think they can handle Indy.

I don't know what to think about Minnesota. They lost an ugly one to Carolina recently but clobbered the Giants the other day. And we all know what Favre is capable of under the pressure of playoffs.

My prediction:

Indy beats San Diego for AFC and goes on to play either New Orleans or Minnesota in the Super Bowl.

If I have to pick an NFC winner, my head's gonna explode. New Orleans has been wicked impressive, but has lost 3 straight lately. Minnesota has a great team, but hasn't had as impressive an overall season as NO. I'd pick the Saints, but only by a little.

Oh, and being a Falcons fan (as embarrassing as that can be) I would love to see an NFC victory in the Super Bowl. However, I'm also a huge fan of Peyton Manning. I'd like to see this Colts team win one.

I'm hoping for Saints vs. Colts.
I'll be okay with it if Arizona makes it, though.
Same goes for Favre.

Cowboys can go suck eggs.

I hope Indy is "one and done," after throwing their last two regular season games. Pro teams are paid to play, and it was an insult to the fans who bought the tickets to those games and to the TV audience and sponsors to sit the starters. :cursing:

After watching the Ravens dismantle the Patriots, I'd like to see them win out, at least, to the Superbowl.

Cowboys can go suck eggs.

Agreed. Any other of the three NFC contenders makes for a better storyline.

I think the Cowboys can pull it out if they get past Minnesota. Now I would never say anything as rude as go suck eggs. Being a Texas fan though, I have no problem asking you how you feel having beaten a Longhorn team that had a rookie freshman QB, after McCoy was knocked out? Kind of cheapens the victory, doesn't it? That didn't stop alabama from being complete classless bullies and running up the score though, did it? Ah. well, enjoy it, we have so much more to be happy about here in TX, we'll let you have that one every dozen years or so. :biggrin1:
