Yes. Much better than the pruno you can make in the military or prison. KoolAid packets add some flavor if you want it to burn a little less.

If you want something that's still awful cheap, that still can put you on your butt, but that also tastes like something, check out Apfelwein.

Can confirm. Mixes well with mead. The better apple juice or apple juice does make a better apple wine. Made a few batches (10-12 or a bunch more) in my home brew days. Have a carboy full I need to bottle.
