Substitute for Westphal's

Greetings Folks.

When my friend StripeyType gifted me with a whole bunch of shaving equipment, he included a jar of Paul Westphal's. I love this stuff! A my current rate of use, I think it will last about three more months, and then... despair.

Needless to say, I've started scouring the net for more. No luck as of yet.

If you happen to come across one, please let me know.

In case I cannot find any, can anyone recommend a good substitute?

Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

Never used it myself, but I gather Westphal was a barber cream from the 1940s and 1950s, long discontinued? From time to time it shows up on the B/S/T and on ebay.

What do you like about it, exactly? The scent, the slickness, the protection, the skin care?

http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/182662-Westphal-s-Shaving-Cream mentions that it had lanolin, which folks tend to like for skin care. If that is the key, then for soaps you might try MWF, Lea, or Wilkinson (stick not bowl). For creams maybe Godrej or Musgo Real. You could also try another cream with a good skin-care reputation, for example TOBS avocado or Nancy Boy. Or one of the French soaps with shea butter, for example Institute Karite or Provence Sante.
