straight razor finishes

Are other finishes inferiour to the mirror finish? I have a satined finish a realized that i have 3 miniscule rust spots.

Theoretically any texture could harbor moisture, with could lead to rust. In my experience I have not noticed any difference, but I make sure my razors are really dry before putting them away.

The only difference here is that I use oil before putting them away (it's fairly humid where I live).

The satin finish shouldn't be any different than a shiny one. Where you get the potential for rust is when you have a flaw of some sort in the metal itself. I have plenty of satin razors with no rust.
