Costco had some of this a few months back, and I grabbed about 20 bottles because I love me some Russian Imperial Stout -- and throwing some espresso into the mix just makes it all that much better. It pours midnight black with a beautifully thick and creamy tan head. The nose is all espresso and malt with just a hint of nuttiness. The espresso dominates the taste, and it finishes with a slightly bitter (but not unpleasant) aftertaste. I was expecting a sweeter finish, but then Stone is not exactly known for sweet finishing brews.
This is definitely an acquired taste kind of beer that is quite powerful with its strong espresso taste and 11% alcohol content. I don't think it's for everybody, but if you're a fan of Russian Imperial Stouts, it's definitely worth a look if it shows up in your neighborhood.
