Stipula Passaporto

I have the Baltimore blue version. Great pen. Good capacity, holds up well in the pocket thus far (though I haven't tested it daily), and it's an eyedropped, so the ink capacity is large. It is, of course, a smaller pen. Quality nib/feed writes the first time, every time for me.

Neat little pen!

I've had one for about 13 months. I carried it around in my pocket on weekends for much of that time. I've never had a drop of ink leak, and it is a bulletproof easy writer. The nib on mine is a bit large (I got the 1.1 stub), but it's smooth and produces great line variation...

The only complaint I have with it is that the lid unscrewed from the metal ring at one point and got cross threaded when it was being put back on, so I've been a bit tentative with it. I think a drop of superglue or shellac will fix the problem, I've just not gotten around to doing the repair...

Are there any other small fountain pens like the Passaporto or is this the only option for someone that wants a smaller pen? I love my AL-STAR but I feel it is a bit big for carrying around.

A cheaper option would be a Kaweco "Sport" pen (Classic, Ice). They even make an Aluminum one, but it's closer to the prices of the Passaporto. These have replaceable nib units...

+1

Kaweco sport is a great writer, and great eyedroppered (except for the aluminium version, of course.)

Might go for a Kaweco sport then. Does Goulet not sell the whole pens except for the ICE? I only found the nib sections for sale.

My Kaweco Sport is one of my favorite pens. I like small pens, and the Sport is the perfect size for carrying in a trouser pocket. It's an excellent, smooth writer. It's a tough pen to beat for the money.

Edit: Actually, money aside, it's a tough pen to beat.

I've been pondering on the Kaweco for quite some time. I wonder if this would be a replacement for the Fisher Space Pen (bullet) that I've been carrying for a few years?

I had/have one. The material is beautiful, but I dropped it and the cap shattered all over the place.

It was a FPN LE from last year, and I'm not sure I can get a replacement. wrote nicely, nice italic/stub steel nib, but too fragile I guess. My Model T is the same material, so I'm afraid that one might break too :-/

I take it you are talking about the Stipula Passaporto, rather than the Kaweco ... which this seems to have morphed into a thread about. :001_cool:

That was one of my concerns about the Passaporto. Clear plastics like that always look/seem brittle to me. They've done some in ebonite though...

Anyone that has both a Passaporto and Kaweco Sport? If so are there any differences in writing and I'd love to see a side by side of the measurements, both with and without cap.
I'm considering both pens but I think the Passaporto looks nicer but it is a much more expensive pen.
