Steampunk Shaving

So im new to this forum and one of my hobbies is being a maker, not everything i make has a purpose but i like creative outlets.

I also like Steampunk which for those of you who do not know what that is think the sify of the 1800's, Jules Vern, back to the future 3. basically if its leather, brass, copper and looks vintage it would pass for steam punk.

this was my little shaving creation.

Just want to see what people think about my little creation.

Love the use of the gears and screws and cogs, but the wires are throwing me. But hey...if you like it, that's all that matters.

It's very nice. Looks dangerous, though, like you'd somehow end up electrocuting yourself when replacing the wet brush.

It would be fun if that brush somehow mechanically whipped up a lather, preferably with a set timer so that by the time you start shaving your lather was ready.
Still looks nice though!

Very nice. This is the first I've seen it applied to a shaving stand. Not my thing, but very interesting. I like how you have the bowl hooked in there.... looks like an old campfire skillet or something.

Very cool I have always been interested in the steam punk culture. People like yourself are very creative and come up with some amazing things. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next.

I'd like to see one shot off the whole setup (zoomed out..).
I like the enhancing of the brush using a gear. Although I hope you are careful not to scrape your face with it..that's what razors are for

I love steampunk stuff. Well done. As someone else mentioned, the wires kinda throw it off, but other than that, brilliant. I might even commission you to make me a stand, if that's something you'd be interested in.

The wires and gears seem to exist merely to make it weird, they don't seem to have a function or actually make up the structure, they seem just thrown on so that it says "look at me! I'm a weird steampunk shaving stand!"
