I saw today in a case, a star DE Safety razor, but I decided against buying it. I had never heard of it before. The whole thing was what looked like bakelite and came in its original case. I usually look for different things, but just couldn't quite bring myself to snag it. Anyone else ever seen one of these before?

I have a star DE razor and I love it. It didn't come in a case, so I can't attest to that. It is a VERY mild razor, but it is a great shaver and easy to use. I love mine.

That's it above in the post with the pics, the 1940's Star. That's the one I saw in the case.
I have the c. 1960s Star DE gold colored razor shown in the earlier email. It is a pleasant and desirable razor. The head seems similar to the head of the Gillette Tech. The handle is a real work of art and craftmanship. Very attractive, comfortable, and it has a good grip. The shave is similar to the Tech, fairly mild. The Star DE is often on ebay and generally is very inexpensive.
