I found a razor today that looks just like a gillette sheraton but it is not gold like the sheraton. Don't think I am getting it confused for a 40s SS or anything like that; I am holding a sheraton right up next to and they are identical up to the finish. Any ideas what it could be?

Yes it is. Nickel plated actually.
I think it´s the same razor in a other case.

Actually I see now, there is a difference in the way the doors are hinged to the head. On the sheraton there are two dimples on the ends; on the regent tech the doors are hinged just like on the 40s SS but without the end caps. I cant tell from the pictures which of these two hinging mechanisms is used by the senator.

Well I guess I have a Senator. After cleaning and polishing it is nickel plated indeed.
That Senator should give you a right fine shave indeed..Enjoy!!!
