Spotlight Fragrances Winter 2012 Suggestions

For the winter edition of the spotlight fragrances, post your suggestions here.
Please think of fragrances that are warm and cozy.
(If you google images "cozy sweaters" you won't be disappointed :wink2:)

Let's hear what you think would be nice in those cold winter months.

Ferrari Uomo will be worn a LOT by me. Super warm and leather. Southern Blend, too. Another I will be using is Sex Appeal. Spicy and warm.

I don't know a lot of fragrances, but two that stick out to me to be winter would be a Bay Rum that is a bit strong with cloves and Old Spice.

Sonoma Scent Studios Winter Woods: wood, amber and smoke or Fireside Intense: smoke, leather and wood
L'Occittane Eaux de Baux: pink peppercorn, incense and vanilla
Chanel Coromandel: Patchouli and cocoa with spice and vanilla, like wearing a cashmere sweater

I like woody scents for winter as well as some earthy scents like Vetiver. DRH Marlborough is very nice as is Mr. Taylor and the Sandalwood scents. I like Grey Flannel in cool weather as well.

Regards,

Doug

Sounds delicious, but not in my price range

'Reasonable' is relative, but these aren't insane. The Chanel is a bit pricey, L'Occittane is around $50 for 100ml and the SSS is $40ish for a 17ml bottle - the SSS scents are strong, FWIW.

Eaux de Baux is one of my winter go to fragrances. Its a very nice cypress wood smell, incense and warm vanilla. Just reminds me of winter. At $50.00 you cant go wrong.

Other scents I like wearing in winter: Burberry London, Burberry Brit, Loccitane Vetiver, Loccitane Loccitan, Gucci PH, John Varvatos, YSL La Nuit. I also really like Penhaligons English Fern on a crisp fall day...but its pricey stuff and I only have a sample of it.

Great suggestions so far. Remember that we are sampling these fragrances.
If you own them, great!
If you don't, find a way to sample them. Go to a store that might sell them and spray a tester.
Buy a sample from a vendor (which is what most people did last time).
Maybe a split will come up of these as well.

How you get to try it is up to you!

Keep the suggestions coming. I'll only be choosing 12 to make the poll

I'm scared to ask how many frags you own CHSeifert.

Haha thats what I was thinking.

LOL...ha...ha....ha :001_tongu

I own a few - used to own more, now have scaled my collection somewhat down.

I just found out that compared to honored B&B member, The Chandos - http://badgerandblade.com/vb/member.php/46426-The-Chandos - my collection is rather mediocre.

I currently own circa 260 full bottles of niche + designer, used to be over 400 full bottles (Full bottles for me is 75ml/100ml/125ml/200ml of designer juice and 50ml/75ml/100ml/125ml of niche juice - I don't own any Pure Distance M and Nasomatto, which comes in smaller sizes because the are real perfume oils and very strong)

My goal is to hover around the 150-200 bottles mark, but I find that increasingly difficult since I love 98% of the current bottles I own.
Signature scent is only in my dreams - I get bored if I wear a frag more than 3-4 days in a row, and even if I apply some of my best frags, I instantly feel like applying some other juice - even though I highly enjoy what I just sprayed on :001_wub: .......

That's why I said "just about". :)
I don't care for MKK either, but someone who does, I would assume they would find it fitting to wear in the colder seasons.

Most of Lutens' scents strike me as cooler weather scents, but there are certainly some exceptions.
