What's new

Speick

I need some help with a scent please .... I have the balm, soap, and cream ... I'm thinking about the after shave ...... can any of you fellas compare the splash to the 3 I have .....thank you .

I haven't used the shave soap stick, but I have used the balm and the SC (and a sample of the bath soap). The AS splash is close to the SC; lighter scent, and very good at soothing the skin.

If you don't like it (which I doubt will happen), PM me and I'll take it off your hands. Seriously.

I agree with Bob. The aftershave's scent is very similar to the shaving cream's. It really is irrelevant, though, because the scent dissipates in a matter of seconds, so even if you hate it, it is gone quickly.

It is a great aftershave :thumbup1:

I find the cream has a medicinal kind of smell. The AS is a lot closer to the balm for me, albeit a less, 'creamy' powdery smell, and more citrus.

bottom line, if you like the others, you'll probably like the AS. It's also one of the best performers out there.

Thanks men, I'm sold ! I'll let you know how I like it down the road. WCS is out stock ..... maybe I'll wait and maybe I can't ....if you zig what I'm zaggin ! Hello, ...... Charles ........

I know the usual YMMV applies but I love the scent of Speick's ASB and I can still smell it several hours after application... mind you though several members of my family, myself included, have a truly prodigious sense of smell (so much so that I'm about the only one in the family that can enter a soap/scent shop)

I didn't originally like witch hazel but now find the scent quite soothing. It might be something to do with the calming affect it has on my shave.

You will not regret buying the Speick AS. The other Speick products are OK, but the AS is exceptional.

Caveat emptor: keep in mind that there are currently 2 forms of the Speick ASB on shelves!

1. The old formulation in the plastic bottle (with a scent that strays from the AS, cream, and soap- more powdery with an unfortunate hint of ammonia). This is now discontinued, but still appears on several storefronts.

2. The new formulation in the tube (labeled sensitive balm), which has, IMHO, the same efficacy as the old balm (amazing) but the scent is the same as the AS/cream/soap. I think the reformulation is a definite step up.

LOVE this stuff!

Thanks Drewser, The OLD balm settled during the day and I liked it, and it's soothing quality, Now I guess I gotta get the whole product line, thanks for the info on the UPgrade ,I think I'll like it. You know what I did ....I took just a smear of the cream and put it on a piece of paper towel an let it set 24...36 hours and I kept sniffin it every now and then. Man what a nice smell . I hope It will be similer to the splash or new balm !! We'll see !! I never was one for AS et al but I'm getting to like a little now and then.... I like the fresh scent of the lemon witch hazel.... but it only lasts a short while...

+1

The new formulation is fantastic. I didn't like the old one, it smelled as if it had gone bad, but the new one is the real thing.

Thanks Nils, for the back up to Drewser's thumbs up .... I think you meant it HAS ARRIVED ....if you zig what I'm zaggin !!

And, FWIW, the intensive moisturizer is also very good- heavy, so personally I'd only need it in winter, but I can see after a day of skiing it will be perfect. Now, if it would only snow... :tongue_sm

Snow .....It ruins the ice ....lots of shoveling before hockey games !!! That is if we get any ice ! Any way I'm going to wait for WCS to re-stock ....I'll save $8.50 ....between the higher price of a brush i' m ordering and the shipping !

I'm trying to feel good ....but they're out of stock ....John's wife at WCS said it's been shipped ....from Germany and with customs ..you never know ! Boy that cream gives me a nice shave ! I hadn't used it in many months .
