Speick Cream very thick in tube

I'm new to B&b but experienced wet shaver. Decided to try Speick cream and just received it the other day. It was very thick and difficult to squeeze out of the tube which made it difficult to face lather with. Could our Texas heat have damaged it while it sat in my mailbox? It was very warm when I opened the box. Thanks.

When the temperature is about 30° Celsius, the cream gets hard. Put it a while in the fridge and it gets softer. That doesn't impair the shaving qualities.

Thanks guys. I used the Speick again tonight and got a really nice shave with it. However, it's still very think and I had to lather in a bowl. It's about the consistency of Cello...yes, I'm serious. It's like the heat dehydrated it. What I may do is cut the end off and squeeze and press it out into an empty D.R. Harris shave bowl and use it like a soap. Incidentally, in the same order I got some Gillette Cream (Italian) and an Arko stick. The Gillette Cream was not hurt by the heat and the Arko didn't melt.

Bizarre - I think you might have gotten a tube of old product: check the manufacture date. I have to be careful with my tube of Speick or else too much will come out!

I don't know if you saw this from another Speick thread. This cream hardens in warmer temps which is kind of odd.

Speick cream is more concentrated than some others (Proraso, for example). Therefore you also need only a little. Still, it's easy to face lather with it, imho. If it's too hot, it solidifies reversibly, that's remarked on the wrapper.

Yep, I saw that notice on the box. Anyway, being as my life is so dull and boring, I thought it might be exciting to experiment with removing the Speick Cream from the tube and put it in a wooden D.R. Harris shave bowl I have leftover. So, cut the end off the tube and squeezed it out into the bowl and pressed it into shape. Before coming in to work tonight, I shaved with it and thought my new arrangement worked pretty good. Used my Simpson Commodore X2 Brush, EJ DE87 Razor and Astra SP blade...and of course by Speick Shaving Bowl. Excellent shave, I must say. I took a lemon and made lemonade!
