Special barbe dure..... Why?

They had to make something so that Chuck Norris could shave every now and then. But then again, he hones his razors on his tongue.
 
OK, so there is no real difference between a razor which is for tough beards and one which doesn't have anything on it. Nice to know!

I have a pretty tough beard and I prefer extra full-hollow grinds. Most, if not all, of the "barbes dures" that I have seen are around 1/2 hollow, which does not work for me. So, if it is marketing, I wonder why the 1/2 hollows are marked like this rather than the extra full-hollows. Perhaps for beginners, since 1/2 hollow is supposedly more forgiving with regard to blade angle? If so, then it is indeed marketing.
