Some Old friends ... Gillette Flying Eagle

Found these on Ali. I was worried I might get the carbon blades, but these are marked 'stainless'.

The first shave wasn't as nice as I remembered these being, but it smoothed out over the course of the shave and settled in well. I may put it in a more aggressive razor for tomorrow.

Hi there,

Haven't come across 50 packs before, but the wrapper and three-stripe print guides look a little fishy.

Only eyeing it, but the grind pattern are also a little too straight for Gillette Shanghai. They should have a characteristic rounding at every corner (almost identical to Russian Gillette's).

Not an expert or anything, but with Chinese blades there is always a chance of fake.

I live here, and apart from the occasional batch of vintages blades or Asia only brands, I stick to RBC, ebay, Amazon etc.

Possible that your's are very old? Flying Eagle has been around since the 50s/60s.

But then again, why the rectangular dotted I modern Gillette logo?

Is it possible to know if the link or seller where you purchased from are these?

The photos inserted by the seller are misleading, they look like the ones you purchased but in other photos they are the carbon-coated blades in the white and pink packaging.

I will agree with our fellow member @lasta here.

The blades in the original post look like fakes to me, because:
1) The wrapper is definitely not a Gillette Shanghai wrapper.
2) Gillette Shanghai always has a date code on the blade. On one side you have the letter (year), on the other side you have the number (quarter). Back in 2001 they had both the year and the quarter on one side of the blade.

So are these Flying Eagles in the pink and yellow package marked 74-S all copies of the original old Flying Eagles or fakes?

I should further add the pictures of the pink and whites were added after I left the bad review. Previously it was a single pink and yellow which definitely misled me into buying. They should just take down the pink and yellow picture entirely.
There is also a review from a user who purchased from that site who writes that she received the white and pink package with the carbon blades.

Fellas seriously, give it up.

I have been looking for the real Flying Eagle stainless steel DE on Aliexpress for years. They only sell there the carbons, fake DE and also some single edge.
Often they will put a picture of the genuine SS DE blades, but you will receive fakes. Do you really think Gillette Shanghai blades will be sold on ali at 7 dollars for a 100? The Super Blues on aliexpress are already 30 bucks for 100

Jianyu blades cost around $8 on Aliexpress, I remember reading that they are always produced by Gillette Shanghai.
Does this mean that also the Jianyu blades there are fake or they just cost less?
