What's new

Some Ebayers are nuts

I think I have some old spice I need to sell -- I guarantee you'll find my price a bargain compared to that!

The buyer appears to be new looking at his 30 buying history. The other two bidders (excluding the sane one who dropped out) had 1 and 2 feedback each. I am sure the seller is absolutely thrilled.

I have been spotting the Old Spice refills on ebay for the last couple of weeks. I usually bid a fairly sane price and I watch what happens from there. It is interesting that the price they will sell for ranges from the price of a AOS refill to as high as this auction.

I just want one of the mugs in good condition, but I'm thinking like 10 bucks... lol.

The mug by itself is reasonably worth $10-$15. The refill soap puck I would say $15-$25. Thus the value of them together $25-$40.

The nearly $100 price is outrageous. The soap is good, but nowhere near that good!! :001_rolle:001_rolle

You can't fault the seller, who started the bidding at a reasonable $9.99.

That's a typo...They must have meant $0.96 .

Actually why not? When there is a market that supports that price point...why not milk it for what it's worth (or not)?

heh, I saw that one when it was at $40 and figured they'd lost thier minds. $96? boy someone got caught up in the bidding frenzy.

The value of an item in itself is not important.

What is important is the item's value in the mind of the buyer.

I agree to a point, but even a quick search would show what the item tends to sell for on average. I just can't believe anyone wants Old Spice soap enough to shell out $107 for one puck.
