What's new

so who got it?

I am the guilty party.

i knew i wasnt getting it when i bid at 7 min. left,, then 6 seconds later i was outbid!!:001_tt2:
but the funny part is,, im not sure that person even got it? was that you? because the winning bid was $20-$30 more than that.

anyway,, nice razor!! send it my way if you need it honed.

Thanks. I put in a max bid not much more than that. A little cleaning and she should hone up nicely. I bet the high bidder was slightly aggravated when he saw it ended and did not get it. I can be a pretty brutal Sniper :biggrin1:

I will post some pics after I get it cleaned up.

I am sorry to say but this razor has a lot of corrosion right close to the edge. I am very skeptical it will actually take an edge, hope I am wrong.

i dont see any reason why that cannot be cleaned up and honed. ...but,, i dont know as much as most of you guys on here.

It will probably be OK but the pitting shown on the first picture is a bit worrisome to me. There are multiple that are so close to the actual edge that may cause it to crumble when honing.

Think swiss cheese and trying to cut a straight line though a piece of swiss cheese and not include any holes in your line. If you can't get that clean straight line then your edge will have small swiss cheese holes in it-as you can imagine that will not make a comfortable shave.

This razor has great scales, hopefully Rhaithskar can bring it back to like.

Really depends on how hollow the grind is. A DD wonderedge showing that kind of pitting would be set to lose 2-4mm of depth to get a good edge because they are so thin the pitting will basically go deep enough to almost come out the other side. Something thicker ground like your average puma would hone right under that pitting and give you a clean edge even with signs of pitting reaching right up to the start of the bevel.

Good luck.

keeping fingers crossed for you. i would hate to see such a nice looking razor go to waste.
