What's new

So... Pinaud products ordered!

At the end, I decided to purchase some samples of Pinaud Products, having read many positive reviews on B&B.

I have ordered some samples (which come in 2 oz --> 60 ml, I think is a great size, for being a sample), and precisely:

Pinaud Clubman Aftershave
Pinaud Bay Rum
Pinaud Lime Sec
Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

Pinaud Eau de Portugal
Pinaud Eau de Quinine

Fingers crossed... :D Hope to enjoy them as I enjoyed TOBS, Trumper's and T&H products...

The Citrus Musk is good, too.

Yes, but given the fact that I have soooo many aftershaves/colognes, I decided a limit for the order...
As I sad, 60 ml are a good quantity of product, and given the fact that I perform a constant rotation of colognes/AS I wear... I think it would take too much time to finish them all :D

I'm not sure about other Clubman products, but the Pinaud Clubman Classic Aftershave is so strong in scent you'd swear it's an EDT. Don't take too big of a whiff when you first open it as I sort of got turned off by it. I like it now, but my initial thoughts were that I wasted money and would have to start using it to soak my old stiff paint brushes in. :tongue_sm

Thanks for your advice, Den! I'm very curious about Pinaud products, since I don't have any idea of how they good/bad they are. I have only the opinions of other folks on Internet, which are, in majority, positive.

I have Italian Floid in my shaving gear, and I like its old barbershop scent very much. I imagine Pinaud is something similar... maybe I'm completely wrong, I don't know... Anyway, for the price I wouldn't be too much disappointed if I didn't like them... (however, I hope that out of 6 products, I'll like at least 3-4 of them! :D).

Clubman Classic is my favorite aftershave. I hope you enjoy your samples and they work for you for it is tough to beat the value of Pinaud products. Maybe later you'll give the Citrus musk a try -- it is good for the warmer weather. The aftershave balm is nice as well.

Regarding weather... I'm interested in your opinion about seasons and Pinaud products...
For example, in this hot Italian summer is Bay Rum appropriate? What about Lime Sec?

I'm looking forward to try them out! The parcel tracking says the parcel has leaved Chicago today... don't know how many days it will take to get to Italy... any extimate?

I think you'll at least find one in that mix that you will really love! PCVIBR & Lime Sec are the ones I use. I haven't tried the others, but I am now willing to give them a try.

The Citrus Musk is good, too.

:thumbup1: Though it is an EDC it is not as strong as the Lime Sec, but very good.

Ehm... reading from many people that it smells like urine quite discouraged me! :biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

It has a cat pee odor in the bottle and when you first put it on, it is not the friendliest smelling stuff at first. Once it is dry it is not too bad and pretty pleasant. I have one bottle and I am going to try to stretch it through my life time. It is ok and worth a try.

gonna stretch it through your lifetime? I'm telling your wife what's going on if I find out you're luring neighborhood stray cats inside.

This is so funny. I really must try this stuff, once.

I don't know about the Lime Sec, but I think the Bay Rum is more of a wintertime scent. I don't wear it because it makes me smell like a Christmas cookie (very strong clove and cinnamon notes).

The bay rum works great for me, as does the eau de Portugal. The quinnine tonic is just ok in my mind, as all of these things are very personal. Overall, Pinaud is a great bang for the buck in the US, and Canadians have a similar company, called Booster, which does all manner of affordable barbershop aftershaves. Booster has been a staple of Canadian barbershops for generations.

Best of luck with your new stock,

Chris

Thank you Chris!! I'll let you know and share here my opinions!
And yes, I read also about Booster...so many tonics and aftershaves. It's a pity (or it's a positive thing, it depends :) ) that they come in quantities (400 ml) which, in the case of not being satisfied with the product, would take years to be consumed...
