So I've been shaving my nephew once in a while.hmm

Yep, my nephew of the rip age of 17 loves the speed of my straight. He doesn't trust himself, but trusts me! I don't get that. lol. Either way, this last time I did it; it felt even easier than the first time. And I have never did it before. I literally felt right at home shaving big mans face, neck and the back of his neck. so literally a few times and I think im like some superstar with the blade. I had him bleed on an ingrown hair that I didn't notice, and it barely nicked it. other than that, such clean shaves, his face came out so smooth! im going to post a picture of his profile so you guys can see. it was pretty good work I felt. I was proud. I wish I could shape up the rest of the family though. Only him on his face and neck, and my girlfriend on her legs. lol. wish more would enjoy it lol.

It is something we forget. The old timers learned on straights when they had peach fuzz. It was easier and by the time the hair grew in stronger, they were good shavers. Us old farts that jump into straight shaving with mature beards take a longer time to figure it out and we lose a few along the way because of the learning curve.

Still... congrats on your skill with your nephew - I would be a bit nervous with shaving someone else even though I'm quite comfortable with myself.

i noticed babrbers like to use the thumb and forefinger to stretch sometimes. is that what you did?

Jon, on certain spots I did that technique. not really to stretch the skin, but to pull the skin higher off of his jaw line. For myself, I usually just go straight down, and ride the jaw line; but it was much safer this way on his face. Ladykate, I have to agree. When I was shaving him, I felt how good and easy his hairs were and skin. when I was getting between his sideburn and ear it was very noticeable. even the hair on the back of his neck was MUCH easier than what I have. I wish hed like to get into this habit, but he just doesn't like shaving period. lol

so I put doc226s edge on my nephew today. it came out so nice. im a little jealous that I do better on his face than mine. lol

awesome job. I'd be afraid to shave someone else for quite some time. Moreover on what others said, I wish I started straight shaving when I was learning as well. My hair started getting very thick in Jr. high/ High School, so I've been a long time out of the peach fuzz.
