What cheap shaving gear would you pick up?

I have hardware... Though I am kinda looking at a Tweezerman brush (Since starting I have only used an Omega boar.)

Also on the list of possible items:

Arko stick
Arko cream (probably regular and sensitive)
Derby cream (for giggles)
Speick cream (had a sample once, gotta have more)
Some different DE blades (more giggles)

Any other suggestions?

Your Omega boar will outperform the Tweezerman. I would not even consider a badger at this point, unless you are willing to pay for a good silvertip.

I would get some soaps or creams. As for blades, get sample packs from either Bull Goose Shaving or West Coast Shaving.

As for blades, I've tried quite a few, but saw a sample pack with Trig and a few other oddballs I haven't had yet.

Also just saw a strop for $12 . I figure my belt and newspaper would be better...

I think the tweezerman would be a great option. I love a good pure badge!

Certianly consider the arko soap stick.


And you've still hoe a few bucks for an aftershave ...preferably something alcohol based.

I came to these forums from Basenotes.net and over there we don't have such a large selection of smilies.

I have to say, I've just started so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt, but I've actually been quite happy with my Tweezerman brush so far.

We'll see if it holds up.
