What's new

So I went for the GFT coconut soap

And it's a great product. I have been using it all week and I get nice creamy, thick, slick lather that leaves my face nice and moisturized. I do have one complaint however; the scent. I can barely detect only but a hint of coconut. I have the cream, which is much more fragrant, which i think creams generally are anyway. And I have had the rose and violet soaps in the past and I could smell them just fine, especially the violet which is very fragrant. I was just wondering what other peoples experience were with this soap in terms of scent. The soap is an excellent performer though.

I find my Trumpers coconut oil soap to be very fragrant - at least as much as my other soaps' respective scents. In saying that I have not tried any of the Trumpers creams so I can't compare the strength of their scents to the soap.

Sometimes the top of the soap will have a layer where the scent is not as strong. After using it for a couple weeks you'll get down to a deep layer where there is more scent. Not saying this is definitely what's happening but it could be, and is the most likely scenario.

On the other hand, if the soap is very old stock then the scent may have dissipated from the soap. Or it could be your nose just doesn't detect the scent the same way other people do. People smell things different ways.

My Trumper coconut soap has a pretty discernable scent - not knock-you-over-the-head strong, but not what I consider faint, either. Mine is several years old, though, and I know the coconut shaving cream scent has been reformulated since the time I bought the soap; it's possible the soap scent was reformulated as well, and is weaker. I don't know if that's the case at all; it's just a thought on my part.

Agreed. My soap is about 5 years old and it's still fragrant.
