So, I got this new camera

and it appears to take pretty nice pictures for a compact (canon S95).

I would agree...what did it run you if you don't mind me asking? We're tiring of lugging around our D-SLR for simple trips and things...

It was $399. I bought it locally as it was the same price I could find online, figured I'd rather give the money to a local shop. You know, the ole eos 10d is a fine camera, but it is a bit big to take everywhere. The little s95 can slip right in your pocket..

Actually looking at maybe upgrading the 10d, also..maybe, LOL.
