slimmy soaps

I need help. I purchased some of mama bears wonderful soaps some time ago and have been using them with wonderful results. As I used the soap, I decided to microwave them to get them back to level in the bowl. Now my soaps are slimmy when I start to lather the product. What have I done wrong?

I havent tried any of the mama bear soaps yet so I dont know whats in them. Something you might want to keep in mind is that when you heat something like a soap that is made of items of various weights/viscosities they can separate. I'd say if you really "have" to do this again try another method like a double boiler for the glycerine type soaps and skip heating if it's a milled soap and just use a cheese grater. just a thought

It might be glycerine, especially if it is slightly oily, transluscent and odourless. Try shaving with it all the same, it might not be a problem and maybe it will sort itself out once you have stripped off the slimy part.

You might try re-melting it. This time, only go 5 seconds at a time, and stir with a toothpick between melts, until it's totally liquid, then stir it one last time and let it cool. I've melted two Mama Bear's soaps using this method with no resulting issues...
