Skin Bracer: The workhorse

I tried skin bracer for the first time this week. It left my face feeling just toned and tingly enough to make me feel set for the day, but not overly tight and dry. The scent seemed to be all but dissipated by the time I got to work.

Does anyone else feel this is the perfect AS for work days? Something about the experience and history of skin bracer just screams "work week" to me.

Skin Bracer is my favourite of the common drugstore splashes. Really love the scent and cooling feel. Definitely get you on the work week thing.

I haven't used it recently, but this thread has inspired me to break out my bottle for sometime this week. The bottle is at least twenty years old, but the scent doesn't seem to have faded. I have a bottle of Barbasol Brisk, and they smell very similar.

They are the same. Barbasol Brisk is a Vi-Jon "knock-off" (read: exact same recipe because Vi-Jon formulates Skin Bracer) of Skin Bracer, just marketed under a different name for a cheaper price.

100% correct. Vijohn makes Skin Bracer for Colgate. I'd say it's super simple to make an accurate clone, when you have the super secret recipe of the original.

i have a love/hate relationship with Skin Bracer and its barbasol labeled brethren. Sometimes it gives me a headache. Perhaps too much powder?

I really wish some of the old scents were still available.

My 2 staples used to be Aqua Velva and Old Spice. More and more those are being replaced by Brut and Skin Bracer. And Skin Bracer is one of the favorite aftershaves that my young boys select when they "shave".
