A couple years ago I purchased a Simpson Colonel X2L from a certain vendor. I was disappointed, because it had an uneven top. It was kinda pointy. So I ended up selling it. I saw one for sale recently on the BST forum and the knot shape looked fantastic. So I decided to purchase it and I'm looking forward to its arrival. Did any other Simpson Owners have this happen to them with the ghetto knot shapes? Here is a pic of the one I purchased...to me...this is what a Colonel X2L should look like.

Sometimes odd shaped knots have been reported for Simpson brushes from time to time. I had one and it was replaced by the vendor. There is a place that sells Simpson brushes and they show every brush they have in stock so people can see what they get; and also show the measurements of the loft. Quality control issues.

That place is Superior Shave. I have never dealt with them, but they seem to be"the way to go" if you want to see the product that you will receive.
