Silly Question??

Maybe a ridiculous but I was contemplating on which way would make a blade last longer.

Shave more often and the blade runs over smoother skin with less cutting needed.

Shave less often and actually USE the blade less but shave heavier whiskers.

Which of these two would be easiest on the blade itself?

There's usualy no silly question, but this comes close. Kind of putting the cart before the horse. Kinmd of wants me to start a protest: DE blades are people too.

I don't remember where, but one of the members here had a link to a newspaper article where they got more shaves out of a blade if the blade was dried after shaving.
Apparently a wet blade will get some surface rust due to the moisture, but drying it should prevent that and make the blade last longer.
The article said it was enough to blot the blade (not wipe). I've also seen members saying they use a hairdryer for that purpose.

even if its only cutting thin stubble it still is cutting the same ammount of hair.

Long hair doesnt get cut any more than short hair.

Personally, I find that blades are so cheap, they just go in the disposal can after three days, as opposed to attempting to stretch them extra time to save a penny or two. I like comfortable shaves...

But as they say, YMMV...

Some one is in dread of the Shavepocolyps - better stock up on more blades or get a Str8.

Wasnt there a thread some time back discussing that short hair (ie stubble) is tougher than longer hair (ie multi-days growth?)
