If one does not wear pomade, but wants to slick back their hair for an occasion, does pomade have any other uses after that 1 event. Is the waxy kind good for cuticles, elbows, waxed canvas, protecting shoes, or anything else?
That's not really a silly question at all. I'd never really thought about it. I think the answer will be based on what sort of pomade you've used. If it's ingredient primarily is petrolatum (which many of the heavier pomades have) then it would retain some of its effectiveness as a lubricant. I used it once to help open a zipper in luggage and another time to stop the squeak of a door hinge. Remember some/many of them would stain another surface so be careful. The less-heavy pomades would probably eventually lose their consistency if left out of their container for very long so they might not have as much use. I'm sure there are many other uses that others have tried. Good question!
