What's new

Shick Injector Model L received as gift - 1st SE razor for me

Courtesy of a very kind member of TSR, I now have a model L Injector.

Never used one before & this one is in minto condition, so looking forward to trying it out... watch this space :biggrin1:; any advice??

I'd describe it as a mild but 'efficient' razor. Certainly very easy to use and hard to cut or nick oneself. It almost feels like you are cheating when you use this razor.

I was hoping that you were a re-gifter and give it to me?

At the moment, I don't think so Alex... :wink2:

Used it twice now & as Black Bear said, almost feel like you're cheating; probably famous last words, but I'd have to be really clumsy to cut myself with this.

The only thing I need to suss out is the correct angle - get a very good shave & can be almost as quick as using a cartridge, but so far, nowhere near as close as a DE; fine at first, but the stubble seems to come back faster.

First impression, 6.5/10, but experimentation continues...

I seem to find that after the E and G type (and excluding the adjustable) injectors, the shaves got to be more on the mild side. Shave in the morning and by late afternoon, could shave again. So the E type is really the only injector I ever routinely shave with.

No matter how bbs I get with an injector it always comes back sooner than with any other type of razor. I think it is the lack of mass.

Could be - I shaved yesterday morning with my DE89 & the stubble I now have, just over 24 hours later, is approximately the same as I had within 12 hours using the L
