I didn't think obsidian was that sharp. I know glass is sharp. I've only seen obsidian that was smooth or old arrow heads that were worn down. That was an impressive demonstration.

cool video, a bit scary though .. spent the last hour looking up obsidian and obsidian scalpels and knives. I wonder if one day they'll use nano technology to create an obsidian type razor blade

You can get fierce "obsidian burn" if you don't follow the shave with buffalo pee aftershave splash, though.

The problem with obsidian for shave implements is that it is too brittle and will give a very harsh shave. maybe for a disposable system though. I'm sure Gillette has already looked into it. They could claim green because its a naturally occuring rock and then double the price..
