I read Wikipedia and I know that a long time ago, rocks were used to shave. I think the oldest straight razor that I've seen was dated in the late 1700-early 1800s.
Between the rock and the Straight I'm wondering what happened. I mean, I was watching a movie the other day where they had the King in the 1500s and he was very well shaved and start thinking. Every time I saw a movie that was supposed to be in those years, everyone (or almost everyone) were very welll shaved. I know that I shouldn't based my opinions on those movies but it makes me wonder what happened in the middle.
Someone, somewhere probably made something that was better than a rock but not as good as the straight that we know. Unless all movies that we see are lies, someone was shaving in those years. I'm wondering how and with what.
What did they used if it wasn't a straight that we know today?
