Shaving soaps as body soaps?

OK so I remember a recent thread where someone spoke about using Cella in the shower. I thought that was a pretty nice soap to use in the shower, but I do guess with the 1 KG brick, depending on if you are risking it going bad especially, it can be not "cost-effective" but not super expensive either.

When I tried to use a shaving soap that I didn't like as much in the shower I realized my body washes left me without any dry skin...but it didn't feel as effective as the shaving soap and like everyone else I was getting more into hygiene and wanted a real soap. So I've been using just the shaving soaps I've gotten that were cheap and I didn't like or didn't keep in my rotation. Figured if I didn't have a friend who wanted it (I've done that with most of them) then why not use it in the shower.

With the price of VDH ($2.99?) it isn't much more than a bar of Yardley. I guess it may go quicker, you may be going a bit expensive if it doesn't last as long as the bar, but it's not going to break the bank either. I guess I wouldn't go and buy it for the shower, but If you're like me and got some VDH deluxe and Proraso and figured the Proraso was a better base-line and the VDH was ok but I got soap AD's and now isn't really being used, then I figure it's not such a big waste.

But I figure a lot of us have gone pretty crazy on our AD's, and I can't be the only one who thought if I can only shave one day but really want to finish some soaps, the shower seems like a good way to not waste it completely :001_rolle

I would use the soaps that did not work well for me in the shower instead of a good shaving soap... YMMV!
