shaving gift for a women need help picking

I need help picking shaving equipment for my mom. She already took my kiss my face shaving cream and said it was amazing. I was thinking of getting her another soap or cream for christmas any recommendations.

Also she has been using her hands to lather do you think it would be any better if I go buy her a brush like a edwin jagger pure badger brush.

Then i thought maybe a de would be nice too, anyone good or bad idea if it is which de and which blades would work good.

Thanks for your help guys

The brush sounds like a good thought. If you think she might object to a badger brush, you could also go with something synthetic.

The DE could wait, but if and when... there's the Lady Gillette in various colors. The Knack could also work well for legs, and I think some leg-shavers around here use long-handled Merkurs.

Nancy Boy Replenishing shave cream. One of the truly great unisex scents. That is, if she likes the smell of cucumbers.

A lot of ladies I know think the whole brush thing is a bit over the top (until they TRY one, lol), and would prefer a great lathering soap or cream with a great scent. I say knock her socks off, and go for a nice synthetic brush like one of the Omegas, any long handled DE like a Merkur or vintage Lady G, good blades (don't let her get the ol' "grocery store" blades, because they tend to not obsess over this stuff like us guys, lol, and will take whatever because "they are all the same"), and a fantastic soap like a Trumper's Rose or Violet, and the best gift of all...take the time to teach her how to use the tools. She'll value the time spent more than any particular item, believe me...

I just completed my gift set for my GF. I picked up a Lady Blue Gillette, a blade sampler and three shave sticks (sticks from our very own Mama Bear). I asked Sue about the brush and she said most women do not use a brush or prefer not to. This is not to say the same women do not own a brush and use one on occasion. I have read posts from women who rub the shave stick on their legs and hand lather. I think it comes down to time, we men do not seem to mind spending the extra time whipping up a good lather, using a scuttle to keep it warm while we shave our faces at the sink. Leg shaving is done in the tub/shower with little real estate for accoutrements.

I did not get my GF a brush but will offer her one of mine to 'try'. If she embraces the DE experience I will get her a brush. I know I am not helping you decide but it comes down to personal preference. You can always put the brush up on the BST if your mom does not like it so there is little risk.

My wife is still afraid of the Lady Gillette...but she loves the Trumpers Skin food and violet shave cream!! Skin food is great stuff! I use the sandalwood.

Yup, Mrs. Smith tried the Lady Gillette once. No injuries but it left a lot of fuzz and she wrote it off after that. She's still scared of it.

She loves it when I whip her up a lather though, and it doesn't really matter with what.
