Shaving experiment

I finally tried out this combination and want to share this experience with you. I was away 35 days and when I came back today a 1939 Schick Injector(caramel plastic handle) was waiting for me along with a zillion other pieces of junk. Excellent condition with original case and instruction sheet. When I was away I picked a CVS pack of injectors. Now don't freak out but I also used Noxzema shave cream with Aloe,Lanolin and Glycerin. I did a two pass shave WTG/ATG. Fantastic results. First off I read a lot about the CVS injectors and most guys think there OK but I found them to be excellent. And believe it or not ATG was extremely smooth and "NO" irritation. I have only positive comments about Noxzema. Maybe its the ingredients that make the difference but I like it. Is it better then a brush shave. To be honest I don't even no anymore. I was thinking about the Classic Cobra but two things turn me off. One the price($125) and its not a true injector more like a clamping action job. Also you have to use Feathers only. So this $10.49 old school with Noxzema works for me.

slantman - I think you will find yourself using that Injector more than you first thought. I have settled into a rotation primarily of my Slant, and my Injector.

I think the older type Injectors, while quite aggressive, don't get the props they deserve...

Welcome the to the Injector club!

Thanks, I used an injector years ago and always liked the mechanics of loading and unloading of the blade. I realize now they give great shaves.

I used an old Schick Eversharp for years. Now I use it occasionally, the reason not more is the cost of the blades. But it is pleasing that it shave so nicely. Aggressive without being nasty about it.

I sport a truly beautiful goatee :)rolleyes:) and I used to occassionally reach for the Atra :)eek:) for trimming as it is very easy to 'drive' in the hard to reach spots. It used to bug me using the stupid thing though.

Well, enter stage right - the Schick Injector (32 model E canadian - schick blades)!!!! Yeahhhhhhhh! It worx really great for those times I need a good sharp trim around the goat or close in to the nose above the stache. Especially if you are using a big, bulky Gillette or similar. And, this is still a 70+ year old vintage razor, so I don't feel like I am 'cheating'.

I always have one loaded and ready to go in my den lineup. (Just rinse in alcohol after each use and your blade will last a heck of a long time for trimming.)
