When do you shave? I always shave before my shower. Morning routine I guess, my face gets cleaned and I don't have to worry about walking around with shaving cream in my ears.
I see a lot of people shave after their shower. You get to soak your brush and loosen up your whiskers in the shower. Then again a lot of people shave in the shower.

I'm curious. When do you shave and shower and why?

I shower then shave. For a while there I would shave then shower, but didn't like it. I like to shave then apply the aftershave to start my day on a fresh note. I didn't get that same effect when I shaved, showered, then applied the aftershave.

I guess habits are hard to break.

I shave in the shower whenever possible--which is almost always. Before finding the beauty of shower shaving, I preferred to shave BEFORE my shower like the OP. But I also knew my face had to be very hydrated. So this resulted in taking a long time, wasting a ton of water and making a big mess. The hot towel treatment was nice, though.

I shave before my shower. I'm a messy shaver, and I make an even bigger mess trying to rinse off at the sink. I just never feel like I've really rinsed well. So, shower after the shave it is. I get plenty of prep from a quick splash as I'm getting things ready, and the face lathering process itself.

I shave at night and shower in the morning.

I like evening shaves because I am less rushed. I shower in the morning so I'll be clean for the day.

I shower and shave my head in the shower with a cart and Nivea or Barbasol canned goo, then shave the face with a DE safety razor and a higher quality soap or cream at the sink after drying off.

I shave in the morning and shower in the evening. Before every shave however I prep my face with piping hot water for a good two/three minutes.

I used to shave before my shower..My reasoning was that I get razor burn and nicks and showering after eased the pain from the razor burn...When i switched to wetshaving with a DE (about a year ago) I started showering first and shaving after. Since the switch? no nicks, no burn, & more comfortable (and closer) shave

I always shave before my shower so I can wash off the remaining cream and alum. After the shower I do a once over with a cotton ball & witch hazel and then clubman if I feel like it.

I always shave at night after a shower. The reasons are twofold. First, I shave using a 3 pass system and enjoy not being rushed and the "me" time. It relaxes me before going to bed. Second, all of the aftershaves that I like and smell good on me contain alcohol which dries out the skin. It's extremely important that you take care of your skin (you younger folks take heed and you older folks well, you're never too old to start) so I use an aftershave balm which moisturizes the skin so the face and neck reap the benefits overnight. In the morning I use an aftershave lotion. As an aside, my wife has been after me for years to take care of my skin. She is 62 and has baby soft skin, no wrinkles:thumbup:. Her other women friends are always complementing her, lucky me.

I always shave after I shower, but like the Most Interesting Man in the World, I always shower before I work out.

Depends. I'm one of those guys that shaves when ever I feel like it. I might get the urge in the evening and then shower in the morning. I might have had a hard day at work so I shower at night but am to lazy to shave. I might have a day off tomorrow and then shower tonight so tomorrow I don't have to shower AND shave and take up more time on my day off.

or I might just grow a beard. Like I'm doing now.

Love it.
