Shavig brush as facial exfoliator

Hi,

Has anyone tried using their shaving brush as a manual exfoliator for other parts of the face/ forehead?

What are you views? I prefer to use less chemicals on my face, rather than use exfolating face wash with beads in.

Thanks :001_cool:

After shaving with a shave soap I use my brush to wash the rest of my face with the leftover lather. Works great.

Cool, will try it next time I shave!

Will a facial wash damage the bristles at all? Should I just stick to the shaving soap?

SWMBO has been doing that for a while now. In the evening before bed, she basically just lathers her whole face up with a shaving brush (recently a 20mm black badger) and whatever shaving soap she has in her bowl.

Seems to work well enough for her (and she’s terrible at face lathering:laugh:).

I use an OLD TOOTHBRUSH, not shaving brush.

Bathe my entire body wearing those "scrubby gloves".

If I've sunburned my head, then after showering and shaving, I'll go back in with some apricot scrub to help remove the peeling skin.

Absolutely. I use a boar or black badger with a high glycerin content soap and a sliver of shea butter to exfoliate my entire face. I use a wet face cloth with hot water and place it over the lather mix for a minute as face prep. I don't wash the brush out but use it with cream or soap to face lather or bowl lather. Works for me.

I would have thought that vigorously applying lather to your face with a brush for 30 seconds or more, swirling and brushing, and then running a razor over your skin basically removing a layer would be exfoliating enough.
:confused1

Pretty much, but it doesn't get the nose, upper cheeks, forehead, upper chest, etc....

I LOVE those gloves. Haven't used them in years, though.
