Shavette vs knife...

Hi all!

I´ve noticed, for me, that I cut my self more often with my shavette than with my straight knife (that I bought here, from Larry  ). My qustion; do you think it´s my technique or does a bigger blad give a better shave?

Thanks for a great community!!:thumbup:

It's the Shavette. I have inflicted the worst cuts of my wet shaving career with a Shavette. It seems to require that you have near perfect technique, otherwise you get bitten.

I am just starting to shave with a real straight, but in my experience a real straight is a whole lot more forgiving. :thumbup1:

i get decent off my Feather AC now that I've used the Dovo for a while; but yeah, it's harsh, and the Feather gives me horrible razor burn still.

The shavette is a lighter razor and requires a bit more pressure to use. That's where the problems come in. A little more weight makes the shave easier. I use a Parker SRW for quick touch up and travel, but I normally use the Feather AC straight, which gives a very nice shave.
