Shavemac D01 3 band Silvertip ; best shape and size for face lathering ?

I only have their 2-band. I have one bulb and one that is extreme flat top. I love the extreme flat top for face lathering. I would think it would work well for the 3-band as well; but I'm not sure.
I use my 25x50 mm D01 three band fan in blue marble for face lathering pucks. I use bigger brushes for all my pucks. It's really a personal preference I think. Because of the fan shape my Shavemac is my biggest brush on the face.
I chose the fan shape for this one because I don't have a strict fan shaped brush for face lathering pucks. It does hog a bit but the face feeling is really luxurious! You are correct to add 10% to the loft if you go bulb. I think you might be a bit high on the loft if you go 21x48 for a fan, you will loose a lot of backbone needed for comfortable loading IMHO.

I just ordered a DO 3 band knot (fan) this morning from Shavemac. I inquired with Berndt and he recommended a 48mm loft for a 20mm knot for both the fan and flat top in 3 band. I'm having a bit of a hard time believing it (I'm thinking shorter loft) but it will be easy enough to shorten it up if I want. Next payday, I'll possibly order a 2 band DO 1 flat top and give that a try. Now, I just need to get in the shop and make a handle.
All this talk about Shavemacs is giving me a tingle up my leg.
Nick, those were the same symptoms I was experiencing. I feel better now.

Did Berndt say anything about size for the bulb ?
Sorry, I didn't inquire about the bulb style knot. Try emailing him, I had a response the next day.
I have a 24/50 bulb and it is awesome. I highly recommend it.
