I kept checking out Shavemac brushes and despite the cost I kept going back to their site. I guess I couldn't help myself so I ordered it! I sure hope it is worth it!
Specs: black handle, 52mm loft with 22mm bulb knot of Silvertip D01

How about shavemac D01 vs. Muhle's topmost silvertip?

Muhle makes a brush with a handle of chrome and PORCELAIN.

I'm so tempted, due to the porcelain....

Owning a Shavemac custom silvertip purchased new in 2002, I can readily predict that T-Box215 will love his new piece. Very dense, decent backbone even with high loft, luxuriously soft, etc. Back in the day there was a quite a bit of dicsussion about Shavemac's pre and post July 2005 silvertip when Berndt "reformulated" (e.g. older silvertip versus the newer D01 variety). Regardless they are both fantastic brushes. Here's a couple of shots to wet your appetite

This new shavemac is my first nice shaving brush. Currently I'm using the brush from a VDH Luxury Shave set, and it sure is a shedder. It's also pretty rough, but I have to admit I bought it we the idea that should I enjoy wet shaving I'd upgrade. (Like I wasn't going to enjoy it? What was I thinking?)

Woohoo! What a great brush! I had quite a haul show up today. My Shavemac 944 w/22mm knot D01 Silvertip, tube of proraso sandalwood, 50 feathers, and a tub of proraso preshave.

Love the new Shavemac, it makes the old starter brush I had hang it's floppy bristles in shame. You all were right... so worth it!
