Shave with Head and Shoulders

The title is exactly as weird as it sounds, but before you go bashing it, hear me out and maybe even give it a try:biggrin1:

I wanted to shave with a different type cream and had none available, so I improvised. I loaded my brush with a light load of arko, and then held my brush upright while I added a small amount of Head and Shoulders Cooling Shampoo (menthol). I bowl lathered my new invention, and applied it to my face. Went on great. Provided an excellent lubricant for my shaving style. Also, having the cool feeling even though I was using hot water was amazing. After a wtg pass and an atg pass, I had a bbs that could stop traffic!

Thoughts??

A bit unconventional, but if it works for you, why not? The only thing I would worry about is irritation and dry skin.

I usually use conditioner when I don't have a proper shave soap. The ones with menthol do feel pretty great.

That's great if it works for you, but...

if adding dandruff shampoo to your shaving soap improves its performance,...

you might want to upgrade your shaving soap.

Reminds me of the time I was working as a janitor and somebody had spit a big wad of peppermint gum into one of the urinals...

I have some Head and Shoulders for my ongoing psoriasis
It might be good for shaving, so I think I'll have a tryatthis
Aha! It works! Could it be? The perfect shave shampoo?
Or maybe anything shaves OK that you add some Arko to?
I think I'll try some more mixing, and If I'm not mistaken
The morning shave will now consist of Arko, eggs and bacon
But now I have to think this through, I can't be in a rush
What goes best with scrambled eggs...a boar or badger brush?

Perfect.

I wouldn't use this on my face, it's packed full of every harsh chemical there is nearly in shampoos. I use it for my hair sometimes but am looking to change because of the ingredients. It is a very good shampoo for the price though.

ymmv

Tried it myself, used the hydrating H&S with argan and coconut oil as the only shaving lubricant, and it was fantastic, best experience DE shaving so far. To be fair, my prior reference were a couple of hand soaps advertised as oily and the even worse D'Amaris cream (worst thing I've ever tried). But it was good enough I'm planning to keep using it for both hair and beard now, it's like 2 products for the price of one, it only takes up one spot in the luggage.
