Shark Super Chrome is in the rotation

Been DE shaving for ~3months now. Started with Derby's, then tried the Astra SP and the Merkur SP. I tried multiple samples of each blade from different packs mostly on a Slim or Fatboy set at 3~5. I had initially thought that the Astra SP gave a smoother shave but after multiple samples I'm not convinced that there's a significant difference between ANY of these blades for me. It might have been just technique improvement early on. Just couldn't feel it over the 3 months.

Last week I received a 100 pack of Shark Super Chromes and ave gone through 4 shaves (same blade). Friday AM, Sat PM, Mon AM and Tue PM. So for the 1st 3 shaves my beard growth was at least 1-1/2 days and the 4th on 1 day growth. I don't have a particularly thick beard but the hair is very coarse and stiff, porcupine like. Well to my surprise the first Shark I pulled out of the pack cut right through the stubble and was so smooth that I could barely notice I was shaving anything off aside from the audible feedback. More surprising was the fact that it was the same experience for the next 2 shaves. On the 4th shave however, I felt some tugging and scraping and the alum block let me know it afterwards. Each shave was 3 passes with a touch up pass. I'm not sure if I could stretch a 4th shave had the first 3 shaves been on 1 day growth but at ~$0.20/blade, why bother.

So... Shark is in the rotation. Merkur SP, Astra SP and Derby out.

Next up are Personna Red and Astra SS.

I use the Shark SC's as well. Really like them. i get about three shaves as well, Could push it but i got mine for around 11 per 100 so easy to toss after three

i use these and personna reds in my rotation

I just got rid of my Shark blades. They didn't work for me at all. I tried 3 shaves and never got a good shave. I have some spots on my face that I get really hard thick stubble. The Sharks didn't come close to cutting it. And when I tried to clean up those areas I got razor burn. I'm glade the Sharks worked for you but I'm not going to be trying another Shark blade for a while.

My favorite blade, and also my longest lasting blade. I seem to typically use my blades longer than most around here, but I can often go two weeks on one blade, shaving 6 days a week.

i will be trying these blades Friday. your review gives me hope! i tried BlueBirds today. very surprising blade

I love shark blades, as cheap as they are I don't feel bad using a new one every other shave. A nice smooth shave while honing your technique.

Moving right along....

I tossed the Shark SC today and put in a Personna Red. I've fund this sample very similar to the Sharks. So if i can get at least 3 shaves, these will make the regular rotation as well.

I had my second shave with a shark sc blade in my R41 today. I didn't think the blade was going to last through the shave, and I probably should't have pushed it. The thing was dull and tuggy following the first shave, and I got a little irritation. It cleared up quickly, but this was also my second shave using an alum block and man it stung. I got cut up a litte more with the red personnas, but neither of these is likely to be a keeper for me.

I too share the opinion as some people here and find the Shark SC very similar to the Red Personnas, only difference maybe is that the Shark SC is just a bit sharper but not by much. I have had my smoothest shaves using these blades and fairly close too.
