shark blades what beasts!

just tried shark blades and omg what a blade. i have a thick course beard that i struggle to get close and my chin is a real problem area. but wow these just gave me the closet shave ever. well worth a go for guys with thick course wirey stubble. any other guys used these?

The Shark super chromium was one of the first blades I ever tried in a DE razor, and yes I thought it was a good blade. Since then I have discovered a whole bunch of blades that are a cut above (pun intended) such as Rapira's, Voskhods's, Gillette Rubies, Polsilvers and of course Astra's. But for the price, Sharks are still a good buy if they suit you.

Sharks were the second DE blade I tried. They had a strong part in my rotation for the first four or five months. Then I discovered Astras and all bets were off.

I am using Shark Super Chrome as well and as usual I will finish the pack before moving to the next brand. I too find them to be good blades, no too sharp but very smooth, and would rate them just below Astra SP.

OP, since there are two kinds of Shark blades (Super Chrome and Super Stainless) you should mention which one you used. I tried Super Stainless and found them rough.

The blades I use now have the yellow/red wrapper. I also have the white/blue wrapper and could not tell them apart.

I do believe that I actually prefer the Shark SS to the Astra SP...I have used both extensively...In fact,I gave away my remaining Astras.

Shark SS blades work well for me. As a bonus, I bought 300 for $23.00 so it appeals to my thrifty side. After all, that's why we got into wet-shaving right?:wink2:

Sharks hit the right combo of performance and price for me. I've used the Super Stainless for years, with only an occasional foray into different blades.

Blades are the poster child for YMMV, but if the Shark suits you, go for it.

> Anyone have some Shark Super Stainless blades that they would be willing to trade for some Personna Reds?

I also do. Probably have around 90 left, they're just not for me.

I just ordered 100 of them last night. They were the clear winner from my sample pack (and a few I tried from The Great Blade Exchange).

Interesting. I am only 5 weeks in, and working through my sampler. Without any preconceived notions about brands or even cost - the Shark SS work best for me. Haven't tried Feather or Wilkinson yet, though.

I generally don't see too much difference with different blades but the Shark brand really tore up my face.Definitely the worst experience with a blade I've ever had.
