selling guns online

neither gunauction or gunsamerica will accept visa debit cards, only credit cards...anyone know of an online gun auction house that accepts debit cards, rather than credit cards ? I want to sell, not buy....thanks for any tips

yes...these auction sights all require you to have a credit card on file with them, they will not accept any other cards, checking cards, debit cards, etc. ,I was kind of surprised

can't you use your debit card like a credit card? have you looked at gunbroker.com?

this was my first choice, they want credit cards only,a rule for listing,I do not know about buying....I don't understand their reasoning....what the hell is the difference ? they must verify the validity of any card anyway...kind of throws a monkey wrench into the plans...these are the big "guns" in the business,I do not want to go with a site that has 10 hits a day

I sold on bunbroker for yrs before I gave up my FFL last yr, the headaches of being in kali become far to much.
Email the site administrator, see if you can set up an escrow acct with a cashiers ck sent to them or a wire transfer from your bank, thats a common practice on gun auction sites.good luck.

yes,I know what you mean, and I don't blame you...I live 90 minutes up the road from you....the feds and the corrupt ca. politicos have run almost all the ffl holders out of state....if your a criminal it is very easy and very cheap to buy any firearm you desire here now...want a cw permit ? get out of state, unless you are very very rich, and/or a politician,,,thats good advice on the auction sites ,I need to get rid of a few pieces and there are no real gun stores left here...the only one around told me all he sells nowadays are sat night specials and cheap pocket guns...

Did not realize CA has gone so far. That was the way it was in NYC and NJ when I lived there. The criminals had access to illegal guns but a law biding citizen could not get a CCL or CW permit. Here in Florida it is a different story. :thumbup1:

MN has really been surprising me, given that it is very liberal yet has very good gun laws (in my opinion).

As far as gun auction sites go, I would venture to say taht none exist without GUARANTEED collateral, i.e. a credit card.

I think it's odd that they won't accept a VISA debit card, since it can work AS a credit card. Maybe the possibility that the way the account is set up, the purchase could be denied?

Just my $.02. Sold a weapon on gunbroker, went smoothly, got a good price. I would do it again. Only problem was the clowns at the post office. Had no clue of the regs. I had to school them, they were still confused. I would have an FFL ship it next time.

I would think it have something to do with identification verification. There are a lot of high security sites that don't take a debit card. Even the post office for a change of address online requires a credit card. Your credit report requires a credit not debit card also.
