After reading articles, been using soap for little over a month now, instead of can. I have been using van der hagen soap and a garbage brush, old synthetic. I learned to get a nice shave with this, through trial and error. I have open combs that I have owned for years, nice razors.
well any way with the good advice of B&b members, I have my new order that came in and I used all of it this morning. I have a wee scott, some nice white proraso, and a Muhle R89. I feel real good, my face never felt so nice after a shave, and it smells pretty nice too. I admit that the R89 seemed a bit mild, but when I realized that the angle that you use is much different from an open comb, it felt like magic. One proper pass and clean as a whistle. Its takes longer to shave with a R89, a little bit, but its a gentle, smooth and a close shaving experience.
Therefore from the help of all the feedback, some positive notes, and a little pocket change, I learned to feel much better with a new shave. So far so good. And the little wee scot, its very soft on the face. thanks, papi
