I just got a few SE razors - Gems mostly. How does one get a close shave under the schnozz?? Mine is average size, but I am having a tough time getting under the nostrils. My first shave whacked a chunk out of my nose...

When I use my Gems, I do my first pass N-S on my upper lip. There will be some areas right under the nose un-touched by this pass. That's ok. You can push your nose out of the way, and it will help.

I then do the second pass from my nose out towards my ears on my upper lip.

Some people might then finish by going S-N on their upper lip, but that causes pimples, and irritation to form for me, so I do a third pass that is much like the second pass, but at a slight upward bound angle.

Whether using a DE or SE that area seems troublesome to me also. So for quite a while now I finish up using the single blade on the backside of a G. Fusion. For that purpose it works very well for me and lasts for weeks.

With my GEM's I do the same as my DE's. First pass start under and move from the inside to the edges of the tips. Second pass I come in at an angle from the sides moving into the lip with the blade edge almost parallel to the lip angle. Seems to work for me. Sometimes the second pass is more horizonal (sort of XTG).
