What's new

SCS Sandalwood

Has anyone tried the new incarnation of SCS Sandalwood edt since the site went back up? It's listed as a limited edition now, and apparently used real sandalwood (bark?)

I enjoyed the Sandalwood splash (I enjoy SCS in general) but thought it was much sweeter than woodsy, so I figured I'd ask for any feedback before debating the plunge.

I have nothing to report as we have not received any feedback from the very few to have been sold. The cost is high due to many factors to produce this EDT.

Our latest sandalwood EDT is absolutely NOT made to replicate any sandalwood EDT currently on the market either as a good or poor 'dupe'. I made this myself from sandal'wood' and it will stand or fall on it's own.

The SCS limited sandalwood is made from the wood of the tree. If the actual wood from the sandwood tree doesn't smell like sandalwood I don''t know what will.

I purchased several pounds of sandalwood and made EDT from it. I did add very limited amount of oil (miniscule), as the dried wood produced very little oil. You need a little bit of oil content for longevity on your skin.

In hindsight, I wish I had taken more photos of the process but here are two.

Eh, Sue....you are not helping my ADs. If my wife finds out I am totally blaming you.

The deed is done. I will report back.

I just ordered a bottle and will review it as soon as I can. My favorite aftershave is SCS "Extract of Sandalwood", as a matter of fact, I like all of SCS's Aftershaves. If this is as good as New Spice EDT, I know I will be happy.

PM me for my cell and she can give me a rant.

I'll see what kind of 'girly' stuff I have in stock and enclose something for her, maybe that will help you out. :)

Daniel and Rich,
I really look forward to your thoughts on this EDT, good, bad or eh? The wood comes with no instructions.

Fortunately, I didn't have to call a plumber when I jammed my drain up not once but twice. "Hey Joe, it's that wacky lady that puts wood down the drain....sure smells nice though." :001_rolle

Sue, you have not been such a successful vendor by putting out second rate products. When I read that you actually bought sandalwood and was not just using an extract, I knew I had to try it.

The SCS parcel with the Sandalwood EDT arrived a few days back. I applied two sprays yesterday morning. The initial scent is darker, less sweet than the typical sandalwood. I don't use sandalwood much because I do not favor the sickly sweet scent that I have sampled. There didn't seem to be much change in notes as Wednesday progressed but it did last through the day. Upon arriving at home I changed clothes and was still able to discern the fragrance. At least on me, the EDT sticks very close and lasts the day.

After a few more uses I will give another report.

And Sue, thanks for the goody for my SWMBO!
