Schick E model with safety blade insert

Has anyone come across what seems to be a copper insert in an unused Injector?

I bought two in the box "E" models on bay and one seems unused and has a fake blade insert and a light coat of shellac.

I've never seen that.

I just bought a Type B2 that has this same copper starter blank. It was a surprise to me to find it in there.
